Explosion-Proof & Pneumatic





We offer two different options where explosion-proof systems are required. All our systems can be designed to meet your specific needs.  

Pneumatic Explosion-Proof Systems (Our Most Common Configuration)
These systems can be used in place of electric systems if shop air volume is available. 
  • Systems are built with an air motor and an air regulator.
  • Air systems are an excellent lower-cost alternative to electric explosion-proof systems due to the cost savings of the components used in building them. 
  • Typically you can expect cost savings of 3 to 4 times what the electric systems cost and have a significantly shorter lead time.   

Electric Explosion-Proof Systems

If you do not have access to shop air volume or want an electric explosion-proof system, Harvard can build them to your specifications.
  • These systems are built to the voltage, hertz, and phase required for your application. 
  • Systems are built with class 1: div or, 2 div classification electrical components. 
  • These systems can potentially take an extended time to build due to custom components. 

Custom Explosion-Proof Needs

We make custom systems to meet your specific needs. If you require a particular system or option on a system that is not specified, please contact Harvard Corporation by messaging, email, or phone.
